Dr. Shlomi Laufer joined the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management at the Technion as a senior lecturer in 2018. He received his Ph.D. in Bio-Engineering from the Hebrew University in 2012. Before pursuing his Ph.D., he worked for two years as an algorithm engineer in Mobileye. Following his Ph.D., he completed a post-doc as a research scientist at the University of Wisconsin with a joint appointment in the Department of Surgery and in the Department of Electrical Engineering.
Shlomi’s research focuses on the use of advanced sensor- and video-technologies, as well as data-analysis techniques to measure human performance and work study. A special emphasis is given to automatic assessment and measurement of clinical and surgical proficiency.
